Monkey Maya is 45 minutes outside of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Our property has deluxe & family bungalows that open up to uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Thailand, a 16-bed dorm, and our cliff-side bar and restaurant with panoramic views of the ocean.
Monkey Maya Ream Deluxe Bungalow

We currently have 5 modern beach view bungalows, 2 rustic family bungalows & a 16 bed mixed dormitory nestled between the white sands and the foothills of Ream mountain. Each bungalow has a double bed, private bathroom and panoramic views of the turquoise waters enjoyed through a large balcony and full size french doors… Look out for monkeys visiting and enjoying the view for themselves on your balcony.

Monkey Maya’s cliff top bar and restaurant sits right at the end of Ream beach, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the sun, sand, sea and jungle – right from your bar stool. If you keep a keen eye out to sea, while you’re sipping on that cold beer or tucking into a freshly prepared chicken amok of course, you’ll likely catch a glimpse of the dolphins that like to pass by from time to time. Some say it’s where Flipper came to retire…

The restaurant serves up a diverse mix of Western and Asian meals, Khmer specialities made with fresh local produce and greasy bar snacks for those hangover days. If the sea breeze doesn’t blow away those cobwebs then the Full English Breakfast will… And if not, there’s always a little hair of the dog.

Monkey Maya Ream Beach

The untouched beach of Ream is located in the Ream National Park.

Take Route 4 to the Airport road 18km north of town. Turn right, go 9km to the ocean. The beach to the right is long and narrow and frequented more by fishermen than tourists. Behind the beach is a jungle covered hill, which attracts a wide variety of tropical birds. The beaches nearer the Naval Base have a few vendors selling drinks and renting tubes.

We also have a 16 bed mixed dormitory, bunk style beds each with a mosquito net, secure lock box, plug socket and reading light. The dorm also has a large hammock filled balcony looking out over the beach… Perfect for watching the sunset!

Please note there is no mains electricity at Monkey Maya yet so power is supplied by generators which turn off around midnight.

Beautiful, blissful!
What a beautiful place! Tucked away in Reem National Park, the Monket Maya's resort has some of the most beautiful wildlife and natural surroundings I've seen in Cambodia! The terrace provides great views of the ocean and the trees around, and makes for a very relaxing place to chill out! We saw squirrels, the most wonderful insects, an eagle, and frogs, little snakes and even a type of invertebrate which makes the most beautiful sand spirals as it burrows into the sand! Such a relaxing getaway, with great food and chill vibes! I am planning to come back in a month's time, and am sure I will be back more often during my time in Cambodia!
The perfect place to decompress
Travelled here after a hectic few days at the temples in Siem Reap and it provided the perfect opportunity to chill out, meet great people and process what can be a pretty hectic country.

There's no wifi so either make sure you have a local sim card or put the phone away for a few days, take a book, download some podcasts and veg out in a hammock (the maroon one is the best).

On top of a wonderful location the staff are all wonderful and will accommodate all your needs. Especially refreshing to be able to sample local Khmer dishes done vegan (not always easy in SE Asia).

Can't recommend this place enough
